ALBUM OF THE YEAR 2023

After presenting the Best Songs of 2023 at the end of December, I’m really pleased to announce the Album of the Year 2023 winner : 

FORAGER - Pipedream Firewood

FORAGER is a Brooklyn-based trio and their latest album, Pipedream Firewood, is magic and nature. It smells like wood, wet soil and pixie dust. It’s like being a child again and going on a trip in an enchanted forest. From start to end, it is a captivating walk of fantasy, with exciting new findings and supernatural creatures discoveries at every turn.

Shyamala’s voice is like crystal water current gracefully flowing through an intricate path, flowers bloom as it passes and sheds light even on the rawest passages. Jack and Colum’ instrumentation work is an explosion of creativity and musicianship, its sonic palette is really eclectic, but at the same time it has a consistency that transpires the harmonic coexistence of a rich ecosystem. 

Every track pulls you deeper into FORAGER woods and the air here seems to have some intoxicating effect that triggers your imagination and keeps you from aging as long as you stay under the branches of the trees.

The album is written and performed by Shyamala (vocals), Jack Broza (guitar, keys, bass), and Colum Enrique (drums), mixed also by Jack Broza itself and mastered by Jamie Lawrence.
