Electro Deluxe - Between the lines

This is one of those entries where, despite that I’m focusing on only one song, I strongly recommend having the whole album experience. Guaranteed groove and musicianship at its best.

I picked “Between the lines” from its many hits because I love how it transitions from a warm, sexy and even chill vibe with 20syl nailing it to a brightful don’t-worry-be-happy groove with Ben L’Oncle Soul ‘s amazing thrills taking the lead.

From its many excellent performances I feel obliged to highlight those classy signature horns and especially Jérémie Coke’s work. He really shines on the bass and confidently takes a nice amount of the album’s weight. Jérémie’s bass lines should be a must for any bass player around.

Such a pity I missed this album’s tour, but after discovering them, despite being from Barcelona, I’ve made some weekend getaways to France (where they tour more extensively) only to watch them live.

So hit the Play button if you like it black and bitter!

PD: For any musicians / music teachers reading this, know that they have some excellent music sheets with big band arrangements and combo versions available on their website.
